Description

The West Coast 3 point felling spikes, or dogs, or bumper spikes, were designed with assistance of loggers in the Forests of North America and Canada. They are specifically designed to grip in any timber, but especially those with a thick bark layer, be it hardwood or softwood.

Following popular demand, west coast saw have launched the first of the new short spikes, ideal for those who don’t want to lose bar length, yet keep the same bite on the timber. The new spikes also have a reduced height when on the saw, leaning the saw about sits flat rather than on the bottom of the spikes.

The centre spike lines up with the bottom of the bar, allowing the maximum application of power and efficiency, and reduces the risk of slippage that can happen with many, even OEM, spikes. Having a single pivot point makes a smoother movement.

West point spikes are made from high grade alloy steel, which is then heat treated for maximum durability.
All spikes are sold as pairs, except for top handle saws, which are one side only.

This is the set for the stihl 029, 039, ms290, ms291, ms310, ms361, ms362, ms390 and ms400 short spikes.

these spikes do not fit the new ms363 or ms400.1

All double sets of spikes have screw fixings and a chain catcher included
