Description

The new high performance air filter for the Stihl MS462 from Maxflow is here. A completly redesigned idea from the limiting stock filter, which restricts the volume of air able to enter your saws engine.
The original Stihl design restricts the amount of air able to reach the filter due to the one piece top cover, so any other filter has had to be designed to fit under the existing cover, so while the filters offer improved filtration compared to the stock filter, they don’t over come the basic problem of insufficient air getting to the filter to let your saw run as it is supposed, rather than be restricted by lack of air. Mtronic saws will compensate for this, but at the cost of performance.

Maxflow threw the original design out the window and decided that cutting the top cover would dramatically improve air flow in to the saw, so developed the filter kits for the ms462 and ms362. Radically they developed a template to allow you to accurately cut the top cover and fit the max flow filter to your saw.
What you are investing in isn’t a new filter, it’s a precision engineered method of waking your saw up and letting it breath properly.

Each kit comes with a fine white filter and general use green filter, filter support cage, new filter rain cover and cutting template, along with instructions to allow accurate placement of the cutting guide.

Two High performance Elements Included in each kit

• Green 60 PPI — High‑Flow General‑Use Element  designed for everyday cutting, the general use foam filter balances maximum airflow with high dust‑loading capacity. Ideal for logging, thinning, and Arb work

• White 80 PPI — Severe‑Service Element  A tighter, higher‑density filter designed for ultra‑fine dust environments such as milling, or cutting dead timber. Provides exceptional dust capture without choking airflow.

Both elements are full‑depth, one‑piece designs with sealed endwalls, supported by a rigid internal cage that maintains shape, prevents collapse, and maximizes usable surface area. This structure allows the filter to capture dust throughout its entire thickness — not just on the surface — giving MaxFlow its unrivalled service life and consistent airflow.
